Wet, wet, wet.

I'm back commuting, so my morning routine involves me waking up and checking the rain radar. Adverse weather isn't a big deal if you're prepared for it. My trusty Ground Effect raincoat lives in the back of my car, just in case. It's surprising how infrequently I use it in a reputedly rainy town. This morning the rain radar didn't pick up the light drizzle that was coming down in Hobart. No problem, on went the raincoat for the 30-minute ride to work. And that's when I remembered taking the mudguards off the bike at the end of last winter. They're going back on this weekend.

2191km so far this year.

Bike shed

Everyone needs a shed, I'm lucky to have a wonderful space where I can work on my bikes. There's nothing quite like spending the afternoon tinkering, tuning up one of the steeds. This week I had a tyre to swap out. Although I love going to the bike shop, I have saved a fair bit over the years doing my own maintenance. Perhaps not quite as much as I've spent on tools, but I am going to maintain that is beside the point.
